In December of 2011, members from 2 of Australia’s biggest metal exports, The Berzerker and Devolved joined forces and became ROME.

With a large and impressive history behind them as Devolved, Nik Carpenter, Joel Graham, Mark Walpole and Wayde Dunn, left the one remaining member and the Devolved name behind, and recruited one of the fastest drummers on the planet Todd Hansen of The Berzerker. And history began.

2012 was spent in the studio writing and recording their album. Recorded and produced by the band in Carpenters own Core Studios on the Gold Coast, Australia, and mixed and mastered in the US by William Putney (Thy Art Is Murder, Suicide Silence) at The Machine Shop.

ROME hit the scene with a bang, performing their debut album in its entirety to great response. A handful of headlining shows as well as prime positions on underground metal festivals The New Dead (SA), Halloween Hellfest and more recently Metal Heart Festival, have been a crushing introduction to ROME and the lead up to the album’s release mid 2013.
